The longest appendix ever to be removed from someone measured 10.24 inches, and it was removed from Safranco August, a 72-year-old man from Croatia. There were some unusual pictures to come out of this little experience.
The enlarged organ apparently caused the man no distress, as it was only discovered during his autopsy. That’s right, his autopsy! It was performed at the Ljudevit Jurak University Dept. of Pathology in Zagreb, Croatia in 2006.
There are some strange people in the world, but how do you not know there is a problem when your appendix is over 10 inches long? A person’s appendix is a small (well, it’s supposed to be small) pouch protruding from where the small and large intestines join.
