With their unusual combination of braininess and obedience, dogs can learn any number of neat tricks. The classics are sitting, heeling, and rolling over. Some of the more advanced ones include shaking hands, playing dead, barking on command, among many, many others. But some dogs have amazing and unique tricks all their own. This last definitely applies to Reese, a big, handsome Rottweiler.
Reese is something of an actor, an expert at pulling faces and changing his demeanor. He can turn his charm on and off like water from a tap: one moment he looks like the sweetest dog ever and then in an instant, he turns into a vicious and intimidating cur.
In the video that’s posted below, you’ll see this adorable Rottweiler showing off his acting abilities. At the beginning of the video, Reese is out on the deck lounging happily on a cushion. Far from being frightening, he looks like a total sweetheart. You can’t imagine there’s a mean bone in his body: is Reese going to totally destroy the Rottweiler’s reputation for viciousness? Then his owner says, “Show me your mean face.” In a flash, Mr. Softy is transformed into a savage brute, curling his upper lip back to show off his terrifying razor-sharp teeth. Reese also lets out a low, rumbling growl and doesn’t forget to throw in some of those licking motions dogs do right before they attack. As soon as his owner says, “Good boy!,” he instantly returns to being his nice, good-natured self!
We don’t really know if Reese actually has what it takes to be a good guard dog. It may be that even if he really isn’t mean, his acting will fool any intruder.
