Pets can do some funny things when something is on TV. There are tons of videos out there with cats sitting on top of those older cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions and when they lean over to try to hit something on the screen, they fall off. That’s a little more difficult for them to do with today’s technology, but it can be done. That doesn’t happen with this video, but it’s still so much fun to watch.
Two Bengal kitten are watching a match during the 2015 Australian Open. The players are Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray, two of the top-ranked in the world and they are in the final. They are watching it on a large flat-screen TV and the duo are utterly fascinated by what’s going on during the game. What’s really capturing their interest is the tennis ball that’s flying across the screen. They want to catch that ball, badly.
It’s almost like a laser pointer for them, the way they are batting their paws against the screen. That TV had better have been installed really securely, because they are taking a risk of it falling on their heads. Their daddy doesn’t seem too concerned, though. I would also hope that the screen would be scratch resistant. That would be a fun thing to try to explain to the repairman. “How did it happen?” “Well, my cats were watching the Australian Open…”
The title of the video is “Bengal Cats Play Tennis With Andy Murray.” I hope that the cats didn’t get too upset, though, since Murray lost to Djokovic that day. Oops. Spoiler alert for a two-plus-year-old tennis match. I’m going to be a bigger jerk and reveal that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker’s father. Please don’t be mad at me. Seriously, though, they looked like they were having a blast and hopefully, they started a tennis tradition.
