Budweiser Clydesdale Trips During Performance. How They Handle It Is Pretty Amazing

The Budweiser Clydesdales are an American classic.  They made their first appearance back in 1933. It was the Anheuser-Busch Company’s way to celebrate the end of Prohibition! Since then, the company has sent teams of these powerful draft horses to tour the country and promote their flagship product, Budweiser beer. Beyond just advertising beer, the Clydesdales give everyone a chance to see these amazing horses and how heavy cargo, like beer, was hauled back in the olden days. The horses have also appeared in numerous television commercials.

Clydesdales are big horses. Really big. Each horse can weigh upwards of a ton! They’re instantly recognizable not only because of their massive size but also for distinctive wide hooves. The breed was created with strength in mind, for hard work on farms and other duties like hauling large wagons full of coal.

In the video we’ve posted below, you can learn all about these impressive horses and see how they (and their professional trainers) handle things when something goes a little bit wrong.

The Budweiser Clydesdales were doing an exhibition performance at a show when something very scary happened. As the team of eight massive horses pulled a wagon, executing tighter and tighter circles, one of the magnificent horses tripped and fell. Keep in mind that the horses (and their human handlers) are carefully selected and undergo intensive training. And it’s a good thing! As we can see in the video, the other horses stay totally calm while the handlers swing into action. Everyone keeps their cool and it saves the day! We’re happy to report that none of the horses were injured and even the horse that tripped was able to prance away like nothing happened.
