All of us are, in some way or another, doing battle against some of the negative consequences of getting older. Wisdom and emotional perspective can come with age and that can help us learn not to sweat the small stuff. However, being flabby and overweight isn’t so small. It’s not just a matter of appearance, either. Being at the right weight and having good muscle tone is good for bone health, metabolism, and more.
Women in particular can feel self-conscious about flabby upper arms. Even someone who has the right overall body weight can have loose upper arm skin, aka “jiggly arm,” that adds years to their appearance. Fortunately, it isn’t that hard to improve and maintain upper arm muscle tone. The key is increasing lean muscle mass. Not only does that make for more attractive arms, but it’ll help keep your metabolism up thereby fighting weight gain.
Fitness guru Rebecca Louise of XHIT Daily has made an excellent video that will show you how to fight back against upper arm flab. We’ve posted it for you below. If you try her routine, be sure to follow along carefully so you get good results and avoid strain or injury. All it requires are 6 minutes of your time each day and a pair of light (3 to 5 pound) weights. Rebecca’s routine consists of 12 moves, but you can divide them in half, doing 6 on one day and 6 on another. Alternating like this will give you the benefits of an extra rest period between the times you do any particular move. Starting a new exercise program can be overwhelming, but remember, this one only takes 6 minutes per day. Once you start getting results, perhaps within a few weeks, you’ll probably start looking forward to your little workout!
