Much to the sorrow of his millions of devoted fans, legendary country music singer and songwriter Glen Campbell recently passed away at the age of 81 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Campbell was master of country music and more: his talent embraced gospel, rock, and folk music, too. He also hosted his own variety show on CBS and made numerous other appearances on television. We’re going to miss him, but we’ll always have his music to remember him by.
Campbell’s daughter Ashley has created new memories by producing a beautiful and moving tribute to her father. It’s a country song called “Remembering.” As the title suggests, the song is all about her memories of her father. She shares recollections of their time together and makes it clear just how much effort she made to keep him close even as Alzheimer’s was causing him to inevitably slip away. It’s hard to imagine a better way to honor the late, great Glen Campbell.
Ashley’s Campbell’s emotional tribute to her father certainly shows how much she loved him. It also makes it clear that she’s quite the musical talent in her own right. However much we miss her father, we can look forward to hearing some great new music from other members of the Campbell family, especially his wonderful daughter.
