There have been quite a few times that I have seen cats wandering around my neighborhood. They are usually very skittish and run away the second I even look at them. There was one really friendly feral cat, but she was an exception. Then there’s what happened with this cat that was found in a road. That situation wasn’t what it seemed, though. What do I mean by that? Watch the video.
A Good Samaritan noticed what looked like a big kitten walking along a road one night. Upon closer inspection, it was a baby bobcat! Somehow, they managed to get her into a box and then they had to figure out what to do after that. Keeping it in their own home was out of the question – what would happen when she got larger? The place would be destroyed. So they called the Big Cat Rescue, in Tampa, Florida.
We can see that Spirit Feather certainly earns her name. She’s got a lot of spunk. The Big Cat Rescue workers have their hands full, literally, when they have to move her from crate to crate. She puts up a big fight and these workers need thick gloves to keep themselves from getting badly scratched. It’s not her fault, though. She’s a scared wild animal. The rescuers make sure that they draw blood and vaccinate her.
Now Spirit Feather is doing better. She was even released into the wild on Jan. 10, 2017. The process seemed surprisingly easy. It involved transferring her from one crate to another and then taking her to a nature preserve, where they opened the crate and she bolted out, turned around and clawed everyone. No, just kidding. She ran into a bunch of bushes and disappeared, ready to live out the rest of her days in the wild, like she deserved/
Wasn’t Spirit Feather amazing? I couldn’t do what these people did – I had a cat scratch my face once. It involved getting her into a crate and she panicked. That was a cat!
