When rescuers from World Horse Welfare arrived in an icy field, they saw two mares and two foals freezing to death. One of the pair was Macy and the other, her foal, Loca. It seemed that they were abandoned. Those poor animals were freezing, starving, and utterly exhausted. And the cold weather wasn’t helping much. Macy was shivering wildly and it is heartbreaking to see that she might have given up her hope on living.
The vet arrived on the scene and thought that Macy would have to be put down because she was too weak. But when she stood up, they realized that this mom still had a bit of spark left in her. So they took them to the U.K.’s Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre to carry on their treatment and rehabilitation. You are going to be touched when you see Macy now!
They arrived just in time to rescue two mares and two foals, one being Macy and the other mare is India, a white mare, who you can also see in the video. When they found Macy, she was lying on the ground shivering violently. It is heartbreaking to watch. The authorities were called and the police took the mares and foals into possession.
Now Macy, India, and the two foals are doing well and are available for adoption. Unfortunately, when the horses’ owners found out they were going to be prosecuted for animal cruelty, they fled and have not been found. But at least Macy and the other horses were rescued.
