Horses are one of the most magnificent animals on the planet. They are beautiful, strong, and intelligent. And according to this cute video, they are quite musical as well. We all know that music affects animals as much as it affects humans. But I had never thought I would get to see a horse play an instrument before!
When Sapphire the horse found a keyboard, she wanted to give it a try. She bent down and started playing it. And according to her owner, she loved it, too! It looks like Sapphire was really captivated by the sound the instrument made, because she stood there for a quite a long time. I have even seen horses paint before, but this is really something else!
This horse is a pretty good music maker. I have to admit, watching him play this keyboard with his lips and how he moves them across the keys is just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Occasionally his owner sneaks in a little treat as encouragement for Sapphire to continue, but I don’t think he needs to. I think this horses is having enough fun just playing, even if no treats were involved.
There seems to be one section of the keyboard that Sapphire prefers over all the others. I wonder if that’s because of the sounds those keys make. Wait until you see when he’s finished playing. He stands right up as if to say, “Applause please!”
