Every Christmas season, advertisements get delightfully creative. There are grocery stores in Europe that make a huge production of their Christmas advertising (pun intended, of course) and there is much anticipation for the latest ad. In America, this is the same, also. It seems, around the world Christmas is big business, but is still about family, too.
There have been so many advertisements, it is hard to pick a favorite, but the one in the clip below is definitely number one on the emotional scale. If this ad doesn’t have the hardest of hearts shedding a tear, then I don’t know what would.
This exceptional commercial was released by the German supermarket corporation “Edeka,” and it quickly went viral. This commercial is short but very powerful. Watching it is like going on an emotional roller coaster ride. It features an elderly man who is forced to spend Christmas alone because none of his children manage to make it home to him. And what follows after that will surely put a tear to your eye.
This advert does a perfect job of reminding us of the importance of family. Like they say in the commercial, “Time To Come Home.” Christmas isn’t just about a feast or gifts; it is about family and all of those around us that we love. Take a moment for your loved ones.
