This beautiful giraffe featured in the video is called Sarabi. And Sarabi here is going to be a mother. This is the second time in just a few months that a baby reticulated giraffe has been born at the Memphis Zoo. Sarabi gave birth to a female calf amidst a throng of awed spectators.
And the most amazing part is that the baby started walking and nursing in just a few minutes right after she was born. Zookeeper Richard Meek was surprised. He said, “Giraffes usually stand within an hour of being born. This one stood and started nursing very quickly, so we were very pleased.” The cheering onlookers made the moment even more spectacular!
