‘In the Arms of The Angel’ is a poignant and emotional song that has been admired by many. However, most people don’t know the meaning behind the song. The ‘Angel’ in the song symbolizes the drugs that an addict repeatedly gives into. In fact, the song was written by Sarah as a tribute to Smashing Pumpkins touring keyboard player Jonathan Melvoin, who overdosed on heroin and died in 1996.
