In the summer of 2004, animal lover and veterinarian Melanie Butera got a very surprising patient. A blind fawn named Dillie that was on death’s door. This incredible video called “Love on Tiny Hooves” shows us a glimpse of the life of the Buteras and their amazing new friend. The fawn was in very serious trouble and would most likely not be here today if it wasn’t for the care that the Buteras gave.
Dillie is certainly part of the family now. She plays games with her dad, and she also has her very own bedroom in the house. In this video Melanie tells you all about how this incredible partnership came to be. She even wrote a book about this experience and is sharing it with the world in more ways than one.
Melanie feels that Dillie saved her life just as much as Melanie saved the fawn. Melanie has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and is in her own fight with life. She says that Dillie has taught her that every single life is important.
