The woman in the video below managed to have a grand time when she visited the Colchester zoo with her husband one fine day. When she reached the orangutan enclosure, she was standing quite close to the glass and her baby bump was touching it. The orangutan’s reaction will surprise and delight you.
The male orangutan became fixated on her baby bump and leaned down to get as close as possible to it. I was surprised that a male orangutan would behave this way. As you can see, he gets a bit emotional when he sees the expecting woman in front of him and seems to be crying. He even caresses her belly and kisses it from the other side of the glass! How sweet is that?
This very special orangutan seems highly sensitive and very intelligent. He seems to know exactly what the baby bump means and just wants to be near it. He appears to be happy for her but sad that the glass is between them.
