Trail’s End: A Time-Lapse Video Compilation of American Beauty You Won’t Want to Miss

There are some extraordinarily beautiful locations in the United States. So many variances in the landscape make for some sensational videos. This video, though, would have to be one of the most beautiful I have seen. The images are compiled in such a way that no one has ever seen anything like this.

Shot mostly in Wyoming, Utah, and South Dakota, Randy Halverson shares his time-lapse video compilation with us. It includes the best videos he created from 2014. The images are so awe-inspiring; you’ll think they’re created with CGI technology or other Hollywood special effects.

In actuality, these images are created by nature herself. Halverson himself tells us that these images are completely real on his site, dakotalapse.com. “What you see is real, but you can’t see it this way with the naked eye. It is the result of 20-30 second exposures edited together over many hours to produce the timelapse. This allows you to see the Milky Way, Aurora and other phenomena in a way you wouldn’t normally see them.”

By using this technology, Halverson has been able to show us a glimpse into the universe as we’ve never seen before. The video is worth watching from start to finish.

The images at the 45-second mark are mind-blowing. The camera seems to float over the landscape, and meteors are seen shooting through the sky below the Milky Way. Watch the lightning storm erupt at the 1:20-mark and at 2:20 see the meteor shower. Basically, watch it all – it is truly spectacular!
