Janis Joplin is one of the most famous and talented singers from the 1960’s, as all classic rock fans know. She is often regarded as a rock legend and one of the greatest female singers and songwriters in history.
Sadly, she died very young, but left an amazing legacy that includes all of her music which is still heard on the radio and purchased in stores every day. Her gravelly voice is particularly unique and very difficult to replicate. In fact, I’m not sure it ever has been, but this artist is definitely giving it her best shot and doing a great job with this cover.
Many singers have recreated her songs in their own style and she is still an inspiration to singers and songwriters who try to emulate her style and perform her music in cover bands.
But this next video shows an artist who quite possibly performs the best Janis Joplin cover ever. Her rendition of “Me and Bobby McGee” will leave you with goosebumps wondering if Janis Joplin has returned.
Who performs this amazing cover? Pink! She’s an incredibly talented pop artist with a voice that doesn’t stop. It’s as if she was born to perform this song. I don’t think anyone needs to attempt another cover version of this classic rock song after seeing Pink’s rendition.
