Melissa Dohme is lucky to be alive. In 2012, an ex-boyfriend stabbed her 32 times. She survived the ordeal but is forced to carry the scars of that event for the rest of her life. She was only 20 years old when this horrible crime was committed upon her.
Melissa said, “Having to look in the mirror every day and know that I’m different because of what somebody else did to me, it was very hard to accept.” If anyone can empathize with Melissa, it’s a beautiful pit bull named Khalessi.
Khalessi was left with scars on her face from being horribly abused as a puppy. She only survived due to the amazing work done by Florida’s Passion 4 Pits. Together these two triumphant survivors came together and posed for this heartwarming and inspirational photo shoot.
