When Penelope was rescued in Los Angeles she was very close to death. The images her rescuers took when they rescued her are very difficult to view. She has scars all over her body and a sadness in her eyes that broke my heart into a million pieces.
She was so weak she couldn’t even lift up her own head, she had almost no fur left on her body, and her rescuers were unable to identify her breed. With some food, rest, warm blankets, loving care, and medical treatment; Penelope completely transforms before your eyes in this video.
This is what a second chance at life looks like. Penelope is currently up for adoption with the support of the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation. The foundation in a memory of Jason Heigl, who passed in a car accident, but he was renowned for his compassion and love for animals.
