Three-month-old kitten sees snow for first time. I cracked up at his reaction.

Cats can be weird when it comes to snow. I don’t know how my cats behaved when they saw their first snow, since I got them when they were older. Now, when it snows, they just hunker down and go to sleep. Occasionally, they may look out the window, but other than that, they can’t be bothered to worry about it. Then there’s the kitten that we see in this video that’s experiencing watching the white stuff for the first time.

What do we see him doing? Well, he’s looking out the window and he does NOT know what to do with himself. He’s tapping on the glass, maybe trying to grab the flakes in mid-air but not understanding that it’s happening outside rather than inside. It doesn’t look like it’s a heavy snowstorm either, just some medium-sized flakes that aren’t going to stick. Whatever the case, this three-month old cat is enjoying himself.

Of course, he’s doing this from the inside. He’s a lucky cat – he’s got an inside home and he’s not outside like some other cats. I can’t imagine what life must be like for a feral kitten that experiences snow for the first time on the outside. It must be fun for about three seconds before he or she realizes that they need to find shelter to stay under… quickly. Otherwise they might be banging on a window… from the outside.

Apparently, this was not the first take of the video. His daddy tried recording him doing this before but first he couldn’t get the right angle to show that the kitten wasn’t just randomly banging on the window. Then he had to keep from laughing in the background, which would have made it look like he was being mean to the little guy. Finally, he got the angle that you see here. Patience paid off!

Wasn’t this kitten’s first experience SO cute to watch? Have you ever recorded your pet watching snow for the first time? We’d love to hear your stories in the comments section below!
