It’s happened to all of us – being bored out of our skulls when it rains. Especially during the summer and we’d rather be outside playing. Sure, there could be a thousand books available, but the lure of a sprinkler park seems stronger. Though kids today are spoiled, they can access libraries of hundreds of movies on streaming services. We had TVs with three channels. We’re the lucky ones, though. Look at this video of two animals that can’t even amuse themselves that way.
We see two young kangaroos, or joeys, hanging out together. They seem a bit bored, since they are stuck inside at The Kangaroo Sanctuary in Alice Springs, Australia, since it’s raining outside. Kangaroos and rain do not get along at all, hence their being indoors. One of the two joeys starts scratching himself while the other looks on with mild interest. It’s not like they can play cards together or something.
There are some animals that can melt my heart even if they do something like be idly scratching themselves and still make me go, “AWWWWWWWWWWW!” These two are on that list, without a doubt. Just the way their faces look, their stance as they stand in a half-crouch. It makes me want to hop around and keep them busy. I wonder what kind of conversation they are having in kangaroo language.
While the two joeys are just standing there, they are still incredibly adorable. When I saw that duo together, I just wanted to jump into the laptop and play with them. Getting to stand among kangaroos is one reason that I want to go to Australia. After viewing this, I decided to start saving up even more for a trip. Until then, I guess I’ll just have to satisfy myself by watching videos like this.
