1-week-old foal befriends a Shar-Pei

The grass is green and lush with small flowers of white and yellow. Duke, a foal who is only a week old, roams around the area with his mother only a few meters away from him.

Near Duke, he meets a furry creature. The dog is smaller than him. His name is Chino, a one-year-old Shar-Pei. They get closer to each other, but Duke remains cautious.

Chino does not seem to be surprised by Duke at all. Meanwhile, Duke himself is curious about his new friend. As Duke walks around Chino, the dog sniffs him and watches him carefully.

On the soft grass, Chino sits down, laying his hind legs down. It is a strange action to Duke, and he is not sure if he can do that. He circles Chino, happily learning more about him.

To Duke’s surprise, Chino quickly stands from his place and starts chasing him. Unsure of what to do, Duke darts straight to where his mother was. His mother is unphased and doesn’t even lookup.

She must know Chino very well and is happy that Duke has found a new friend. After the quick comfort from his mother, Duke runs back to play with Chino.

Duke faces Chino. He isn’t a graceful runner yet. His long and thin legs do carry him with immense speed. On the grass, Duke cheerfully runs away from Chino.
