Small But Mighty: 10-Year-Old’s Performance of ‘Never Enough’ Brings Audience to Their Feet

Souparnika Nair - BGT

Souparnika Nair always dreamt of performing on a popular show and receiving a standing ovation for her performance. This dream came true when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent recently.

Seconds after she starts to sing the “Trolley Song” by Judy Garland, Simon Cowell stops her during her audition on BGT. The judge raises his hand and asks her to stop singing. The poor 10-year-old thought she had messed up the song.

However, Simon had something else in mind. He tells Nair that he loves her but doesn’t love the song. The judge then asks the contestant to sing the “Never Enough” song from The Greatest Showman Ever.

Nair’s interest in music started at a very early age. She began taking singing lessons when she was just 6 years old. She was a BGT fan, and thus the family decided to get her to audition for the show.

Simon asks Nair to sing a different song because he somehow knows she can sing songs with higher notes. He also believed that it would help them judge her singing style appropriately.

There is some hesitation in the voice when she begins to sing the song “Never Enough.” However, she soon recovers and hits all the notes of the music. After her performance, when it’s time for feedback on the performance, David tells her, “That is a mountain of a song, and you have conquered it.”

Alesha states, “I cannot get my head around the fact that you’re 10 years old, standing like a little professional.” Amanda tells Nair that she has an old-fashioned voice that she loves and likes that the contestant hits every single note. In the end, Simon says to the 10-year-old, “Souparnika, you absolutely nailed it.” Nair earns 4 “Yeses,” sending her to the next round.
