This Family Of Cowboys Risked Their Lives To Save 31 Horses About To Drown In A Flood

When this video starts, we find 31 horses caught on a tiny island in a flash flood. The water rose very quickly and trapped these animals. Now they have mere minutes before the water becomes fatal.

Will Barrett and his three young sons realized that they could help the horses and they immediately saddled up. They rode for more than a mile in waters up to 4 feet deep to collect the missing herd.

As one of Will’s boys said, the horses know when the water is too deep or fast, and they did not want to cross the water, making the challenge ever deeper for these cowboys. But, they knew what they were doing, and they had faith.

Severe weather had blown through the county over the previous few days, and when the family came home from a family outing, they found that the horses were in a terrible predicament. More than 10 inches of rain had swept through the ranch and put the horses all into mortal danger.

These four Texas cowboys are true heroes, and I am sure that Will is exceptionally proud of all three of his boys and what they accomplished that day. If not for these amazing men, and boys, those horses probably would not have survived. All in a day’s work for these hero cowboys.
