32 Yrs Ago They Met. But When They Start Dancing, You Won’t Be Able To Look Away! WOW!

This video is a dance performance at the 2013 US Grand National Dance Competition by two partners who had been active for 32 years. Charlie Womble and Jackie McGee were spring chickens in the 60s and have been dancing together since the very early 80s.

As you can see from this video, they were still going strong. Charlie and Jackie competed in the Masters division of that year’s Grand National. They chose a brilliant piece of music to dance to in Kelley Hunt’s “Queen of the 88’s”. Kelly Hunt is a blues singer and pianist from Kansas City, the home of KC Masterpiece is as bluesy as they come.

One can get tired of dancing with the same partner for 32 years but Charlie and Jackie were having so much fun in this video. They knew each other inside out. Charlie led and Jackie knew exactly what he wanted; she switched it up a couple of times and Charlie immediately adapted. They were dancing like it’s 1988 all over again!

Our dance couple appeared to be well-known by everyone in attendance at the dance, even the announcer was real excited to announce their names. They should be as they were the previous directors of the event! At this point in 2013 they had won the National Shag Dance overall competition in 9 out of the last 10 years.
