A woman is cleaning her bedroom when suddenly she finds a manhole cover hidden underneath the carpet. She has no idea what it could be, she has never seen it before.
Upon opening it up, she and her husband see a ladder that goes down into a dark room. It’s full of cobwebs and dust, obviously, it has been sitting there for a long time.
They figure they should go down to investigate, and that is exactly what they do. The husband goes first, making sure to clear the entrance of cobwebs and dust.
When they climb down they find a bomb shelter, which they later find out was probably built in the 1950s. So the room they are in has been there for around 50 years.
There is a bunk bed, storage space, a steel door that is an exit to the outside, some spiders, and other old objects. It held together pretty well for something so old.
It was built during a time when people were afraid of their homes being bombed or attacked. They uncover whatever they can in the room, giving a tour for everyone to see.
Now that the shelter has been discovered underneath their home, they wonder what they can do with it. It is an entirely new room they can renovate and use for another purpose.
