Most people would agree that it is always a magical experience when different musicians come together to play in harmony. It’s no surprise then, that when one family band of six in Ohio tackles a classic country standard in a home video, the resulting experience is truly heartwarming.
In the realm of noteworthy music, “Jolene” by country superstar Dolly Parton has got to be one of the most famous melodies. Of all the songs Parton has ever written, “Jolene” has been covered the most since its initial release in 1973.
However, none have ever played this country standard quite like The Petersons, a family band of 6 members from Branson, Missouri. To create their unique sound, each Peterson takes on their own acoustic instrument in the band, including banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bass, and even dobro.
In their cover of “Jolene,” shot from their living room, you as the viewer can almost feel the incredibly wholesome atmosphere radiating from the Peterson household – we have no doubt that you would surely be welcomed with open arms by this family.
