What a lovely video of 7-week old rescued German Shepherd puppies taking their first swimming lessons. Dogs need to learn to swim before being trusted near water bodies.
Mum Lucy, an adult German Shepherd dog, leads the way into the pool, and the puppies follow. The puppies are fitted with life jackets to prevent the risk of drowning in the pool.
The puppies are not forced to jump into the water but simply follow the lead of the adult German shepherd. Toys are also introduced to lure the puppies into the water.
The three adorable puppies have taken a liking to the water, just like mum. The puppies take their first swimming lesson under the close supervision of a handler.
The dog handler doesn’t have any expectations of the three puppies. The swimming lesson is fun-oriented, short, and enjoyable to avoid creating fear.
The puppies take a second swimming session and freely jump into the water. No leash is required to lead them into the water implying the puppies loved the experience in the water.
Mum Lucy and the puppies use the ramp to get out of the pool. Mum Lucy is a big fan of the swimming pool. The video ends with the puppies being wiped dry with towels.
