Various volleyball teams in Paulding County in Georgia decided to come together for one cause. Their act of kindness united an entire community to come to the aid of one important man, their volleyball referee.
The students and families at the Paulding County Parks and Recreation Department started to notice that their volleyball referee was going back and forth between games in a rental car.
After learning that his car had broken down and couldn’t be fixed, they hatched a plan. They would secretly raise the money to help him buy a new car.

This grand gesture by the community was sparked due to Lemuel Buster’s dedication to the kids. The 76-year-old grandfather is a lover of the sport and provides undivided attention to his craft.
When the families and students learned that he was going through a hard time with his transportation, they began to collect donations secretly. Their cause was brought to one of the player’s fathers, who sells used cars, and he also decided to pitch in by donating a Chrysler Sebring convertible.
With everything they had recollected, they made minor repairs and modifications to the car and were finally ready to surprise their volleyball referee with it. Lemuel Buster was in for a miracle!
The community first met with Lemuel at the school gym, where they thanked him for his dedication and gifted him with free meals to McDonald’s, a $25 Walmart gift card, $1,000 in cash, and the convertible.
