A Mother's Love: Allison the Alpaca and Her Daughter's Emotional Reunion

Two alpacas with distinctive coats stand in a fenced area, with a trailer and equipment in the background.

Lee Asher and his friend are on their way to pick up Allison, the alpaca, and her son. They are hoping to reunite Allison with her daughter Princess whom Lee rescued years ago.

A man in a blue shirt pets a black and white calf while another man sits nearby on straw.

Frankie the llama, is socially awkward but likes having Princess the alpaca around. Lee thinks that if Allison and her baby are also there then Frankie will be much happier, and so will Princess.

At first, Allison was unsure if she could trust Lee, but she quickly bonded with him. Allison's jealous baby daddy tried butting in on the love and spit in Lee's ear a few times. While trying to lead her into the trailer for travel, she started to put up a fight, so Lee had to pick her up and carry her. The average alpaca weighs 140 pounds.

Once they get to the farm, they open the trailer door and let the alpacas come out on their own. Princess wanders over, and you can hear them making soft noises with each other and communicating with one another. The reunion goes smoothly. Princess still remembers her mom, and Allison has missed her daughter.

Lee Asher has a 25-acre Oregon-based sanctuary called The Asher House. Its residents include rescue dogs, donkeys, pigs, the alpacas you saw in this video, a goat, and Frankie the llama that also made an appearance in the video.
