As shelter volunteers were traveling back to the Dog Rescue Shelter in Mladenovac, Serbia, they saw a stranded dog on the side of the road. The dog was alone and standing in the cold rain.
When the volunteers approached, the dog ran away, off the road and into the bushes. The dog was scared and began showing signs of aggression toward the rescuers as they approached it.
They used food to lure the dog to safety. It took a long time, but finally, the dog decided to trust them. The dog allowed them to pet her and put her in the car. They had to pick her up and bring her to the shelter.
Only a few months passed before ‘Lady’ was adopted. The family that adopted her has a huge backyard for her to play in. They also have another dog, so Lady has a friend and sibling.
