A tiny baby deer that could barely walk boldly asked a woman in the woods for help. The fawn could scarcely stand, indicating that it was probably only a few days old.
However, for one hiker, the experience was quite different. Amber Starr, who hails from North Carolina, was running in the woods one day when she unexpectedly came across a tiny fawn who was squealing and running towards her.
The fawn started suckling her ankle, indicating she was starving and had been away from the mother for a long time. The fawn seemed weak and couldn’t stand firmly but still persisted in staying put on her feet.
Amber, though startled, was able to capture this moment using her camera and is heard telling the baby dear that she is not her mother. After spending some time with the fawn, Amber left for home, hoping that the mother dear would find and reunite with her little baby.
Back at home, Amber engaged in her usual house tasks, and as she was doing the laundry, the image of the helpless fawn kept appearing on her mind. Now worried and concerned about the little creature, Amber decided to go back to the trail and find the fawn.
The night was dark, but Amber and her companion searched around the place, unsure if they would find the little one. Her friend spotted the fawn sleeping on a rock, and no mom on sight, much to their surprise. They took the fawn and carried it with them back home to see what they could do and help him.
Amber prepared formula for the vividly weak deer and placed it in some clean gloves for the little one to suck. Her family would later contact rescue centers around their area. Fortunately, the Turners Deer Camp Fawn Rescue came over and picked the fawn they had already named Scout.
