Massive Choir Performs Amazing Twist On the Greatest Showman Tune, “This is Me”

Angel City Chorale took center stage on America’s Got Talent quarterfinals when this melodic cadre performed the Oscar-nominated song “This is Me” from the hit movie “The Greatest Showman”.

Angel City Chorale’s slogan, “Building community one song at a time”, is exemplified in action. They don’t only donate their voices, but clothing, medical supplies, and food. The singers give concerts for the elderly, the homeless, and others in need of cheer.  They are especially busy around the holidays, but somehow they managed to find the time out of their busy charity schedule to perform on America’s Got Talent. The PR they will receive is no doubt worth millions.

This group is one of Simon’s personal favorites and there’s reason for it. Tonight, ALL of the judges lept to their feet in a standing ovation. They will definitely be going on to the next live round.

Judge Howie Mandel who was familiar with Angel City Chorale’s previous performances expressed some concern that the “power and electricity would not come across on TV, but, I was wrong! You guys nailed it!” Howie exclaimed.

Mel said the group was “not perfect, but pretty good” implying the act was more of a “feel good” stunt more than anything else. Oh well. Can’t win them all.

“I absolutely love this choir,” comments one fan.  “Their audition was fantastic and this performance was great, too. Worthy of a golden buzzer in my book.”

“This Is Me” — an anthem of self-empowerment that has propelled “The Greatest Showman” to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts. It’s a song that many of us can relate to. Its message is inspiring. Be yourself and be true to who you are. Don’t let anyone bully you. You can be proud of who you are.

Keala Settle who appeared in “The Greatest Showman” says the song is indeed special and empowering. “I learned not to give power to that doubt and that insecurity anymore,” she says. “Everybody has those feelings. So it made me step up. That fight will always be something I struggle with, but each time I sing, it gets easier. I can’t really do that bullying anymore and I’m grateful of that.”
