Some performances and performers are so uplifting that you can’t help but to like what they sing. Likewise, you can’t help but admire the performers that are “real people” with amazing lives.
This is one such performance and performer. The father of 6 and pediatric mental health nurse from Knoxville, Tennessee, wowed the judges and fans.
Ketterer — who was chosen as Simon Cowell‘s Golden Buzzer winner in the auditions round — belted out the moving lyrics of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and he said he “was dedicating to my God because he moved mountains.”
The act begins with Michael Ketterer on stage with a powerful light projecting a montage of pictures and videos from the singer’s life, notably his family, friends, and the people he has helped.
From a family who relied on Michael for emotional support when their daughter passed away to a man who was inspired to want to be a father by an encouraging letter, the musician wrote to him in the hospital, and the moving montage featured dozens of tearful videos. It was a soaring spectacle.
“I would love to be able to give your family the million dollars because you’re just an amazing guy,” Cowell exclaimed, stuttering and holding back his tears. “So many people have spoken about you. You were nervous tonight, but that’s what makes you human… you’re a great, great person, Michael.”

But there’s more to his incredible story. Just by being on a show like America’s Got Talent, you’re going to get a lot of exposure that will lead to some fantastic offers and opportunities…
That’s precisely what happened to Michael Ketterer when the legendary Garth Brooks made him a once in a lifetime offer beyond anything Michael could have to imagined.

During an episode of his Facebook Live video series Inside Studio G, Brooks said, “I told Simon last week, the opportunity to write, and the opportunity to write for someone else, I haven’t done that in a while.”
So instead of composing an original song for Ketterer, Brooks did something better. He invited the singer to his upcoming, completely sold-out Notre Dame Stadium concert.
“We’re going to suit you up with a band. We’re going to put you out in front of 85,000 of the sweetest people you’ve ever played for before, and they’re going to be pulling for you like no other. This is going to be good,” he said.
Ketterer was stunned by Garh Brooks offer adding. “I feel like what happened is beyond what I thought or imagined.”
