AGT’s Golden Buzzer dad, Michael Kettering stuns crowd with inspiring masterpiece

If you’ve spent much time on Madly Odd’s Facebook page recently, chances are you’ve seen the viral video of solo artist and father of six, Michael Ketterer on America’s Got Talent (AGT).

The part-time worship leader and pediatric nurse impressed judges and audience alike with his soulful performance of the Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody.” Of course, judge Simon Cowell jumped up and slammed the golden buzzer automatically sending Ketterer to the live AGT shows. Cowell joined him on stage and said, “Something about your voice… I genuinely mean it… is special. Everything was perfect.”

After the show, Ketterer talked about his jittery nerves and the shock of receiving the infamous Golden Buzzer. Despite his fame, the man remains humble. He keeps his family the focus of his new journey. He said if he wins the show, he would use the $1 million prize to build a more accessible home for his son with cerebral palsy.

Michael and his wife created ‘Influence Music’, an independent worship label born of Influence Church based in Anaheim, California. Influence Music’s debut album features several songs from Michael that you’ve never heard before.

One of these songs is “Kindom” which reflects much of the Ketterer’s personal story. “So thankful for all of the support and love that I’m receiving… My family and I are undone and are so thankful to God for this amazing opportunity. Thank you, Simon Cowell, for hitting that button,” Michael recently wrote.
