Almost a quarter of millennia ago, on the 4th of July 1776, the Colonies’ Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence from British rule. Thus, marking a new era that brought about the United States we know today.

Although it took another hundred years to make the 4th of July an official federal holiday, the celebrations spread around the United States as soon as the following year after the acceptance of the Declaration.

‘America The Beautiful,’ a poem written by Bates through her experience of the stunning nature of Kansas and Pikes Peak, perfectly encapsulates the glory of the country and its natural treasures.

So much so that the poem became a song that even now resonates with the feelings of pride, honor, and devotion of the people. That includes the country music star, Alan Jackson.

Jackson honored United States with the most beautiful rendition of ‘America The Beautiful’ at the annual PBS 4th of July celebrations ‘A Capitol Fourth’. His calm, deep and caring voice made was perfect for the tune.
