Realtor rocks ‘America’s Got Talent’ with her powerful mezzo-soprano vocals and her ‘electric’ stage presence.
The singer self-styled as ‘Anica’ brought retro magic to the stage with her soaring, atmospheric performance of Bishop Briggs’ “River”. Just listen to her voice and you’ll immediately be reminded of Janis Joplin. Anica’s retro-esque vocals bring a wisp of nostalgia to this popular contemporary song.
“River” is a dramatic power ballad by British singer-songwriter Bishop.”Briggs, released in 2016 through the artist’s SoundCloud. The song became a hit and reached the Top 10 on three different charts, and reached #1 on the Spotify US Viral 50.
Anica’s live America’s Got Talent performance of ‘River’ was equally well received. Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara gave her standing ovations, and if it weren’t for Simon Cowell’s notoriously bad back pain, he would have undoubtedly risen to the occasion. He’s understandably forgiven. The smile on his face was more than enough to telegraph his delight.

Anica’s AGT wiki says, “Growing up in nine foster homes, she was unaware of her talent until age twelve when her last foster family noticed her musical ability and gifted her with a guitar for Christmas. Since then, she has played concerts and festivals across Canada with her guitar, harmonica, bass, and mandolin. She also works as a realtor, and when she’s not performing on stage, Anica is creating a rock musical that she hopes to get on Broadway.”
