There are few things more majestic than the iconic wildlife of Africa. From the lion to the giraffe, these creatures are known throughout the entire world.

Footage from a man-made waterhole located in the Mwiba Wildlife Reserve in Tanzania, shows peaceful scenes of these animals gathering to drink and bathe. Water is vital to life after all.

Boars, hippos, birds, gazelles, cheetahs, lions, and more, all of them visit the water hole. All the cameras are hidden to make sure that they don’t disturb any of the animals.

During the rainy season, the land is verdant and lush with vegetation, but it is when the dry season comes that this waterhole becomes even more important. Groups of animals carve their path to make sure they get enough water.

It was built to last and they made sure it had water all year round for all the wildlife within the reserve. Water is difficult to come by during the dry seasons.

The sight of these amazing creatures visiting the same place is truly a gift to the world. BBC Earth is to thank for sharing this remarkable footage.

From day to night you can see and study the patterns of all the animals that come to revitalize themselves at this oasis.
