Arnold Schwarzenegger: Kindergarten Cop, Governor, and Donkey Daddy

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold Schwarzenegger is undoubtedly one of the most interesting celebrities of all time. His list of accomplishments varies from successful actor, film producer, bodybuilder, and world-famous trainer, to businessman, politician, and even the 38th governor of California.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

He was born in Austria on July 30, 1947, and his youth was reasonably uneventful. But a significant life event occurred when Arnold was fourteen; he joined the football team and began weight building.

He quickly became much more enthralled with lifting weights than he ever was with any other sport. Although his traditional parents wanted him to find a regularly paying job, Arnold wanted nothing more than to be a professional bodybuilder.

Schwarzenegger was almost immediately successful in small competitions around Austria and was starting to become well known in the world of bodybuilding. But young Arnold knew that winning the title of Mr. Universe would be his big break.

He placed second in the competition in London in 1966, but it was, in fact, his ticket to stardom. Over the next two decades, Schwarzenegger won Mr. Universe four times and Mr. Olympia eight times and is widely regarded as one of the most influential bodybuilders of all time.

But that was just the beginning. Arnold saw bodybuilding as his ticket to America, and when he finally arrived in Los Angeles, California, in 1968, he had huge muscles, a thick Austrian accent, and big dreams.

Schwarzenegger wanted to act, and although he landed a few roles in the 70s and 80s, his strange body and accent made it quite challenging to find success.

Most critics agree that his big break came with Conan the Barbarian in 1982, but almost everyone in the world knows him best for his role in James Cameron’s science fiction action film The Terminator in 1984.

Throughout the 90s and early 2000s, Arnold Schwarzenegger was one of the biggest names in Hollywood, and he starred in almost 50 movies!

But Arnold wanted more. He had always been interested in politics, and in 2003 he announced that he would be running for the role of a lifetime, the governor of California.

Schwarzenegger won the election and served as governor from 2003-2011. Of course, there are mixed reviews as to whether or not he was a “successful” governor, but overall, his terms were considered to be quite good for the state.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is far from done making an impact in this world, and we are all excited to see what he does next.

No matter what you think of when you think of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the man is no doubt a household name and is known all over the world as one of the most famous bodybuilders, actors, and politicians alive.
