Singing his own rendition of “I Smile” by Kirk Franklin, it took just seconds before Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine turned their chairs. The song is all about smiling through the pain and trusting God throughout hard times.
Matthew Johnson is an incredibly talented singer with a soulful voice. As he continues to sing, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson also turn their chairs around. All four judges were fighting over who would coach the gifted singer.
Because John Legend has a history in the church, Matthew chose him. We hope that Matthew has a ton of success with his music career. When times get tough, it’s important to remember to smile, and things will eventually get better.
