It’s not every day that you get a chance to make a difference in another creature’s life. The man in this video, Darius, rescued and rehabilitated an injured deer, which would have been beautiful enough.
Luckily for us, Darius managed to catch the whole tale on tape, and has shared it with the world. When he was out watching a family of deer one day, he noticed one of the fawns limping behind, her leg obviously injured.
“The fawn was helpless,” Darius says. “She was just born earlier that day, [and] still had some blood on her belly.”
The fawn struggled to keep up with mama and sibling, but was eventually left behind. Enter Darius, who says in the caption for the video: “I do not support keeping wild animals as a pets. But this was [a] special situation.”
Without help, the fawn would have been an easy target for predators. Darius took her into his home, along with his other pets, and gradually nursed her back to health. Once she was ready, he took her outside and let her free.
But she came back. Again and again she came back. Still, Darius knew she belonged with her mother, and when the fawn finally caught sight of the mama doe, she took off running, happily reunited with her family.
