Baby deer’s adorable zoomies captured on trail cam

Trail cameras can often catch plenty of peculiar parts of nature. They may depict a bear rubbing on a tree or squirrels engaged in a fight. But you’d be surprised what deer do when we’re not looking.

Mama and baby deer

A cute baby deer was captured on a trail camera in the Florida Everglades. The little fawn gets close to the camera, but the deer is speedy enough that it’s all over the place.

The fawn made a stop with his mom when she decided to rest. While she lay in the grass, her child decided to have some fun. He had a lot of energy and decided to use it.

You’ll know what this means if you’ve seen a cat come down with the zoomies. This behavior is also referred to as Frenetic Random Activity Periods or FRAPs.

The zoomies occur when too much energy has built up and needs to be expelled—what better way than running around to get out that extra energy.

Much like a cat showing excitement, this fawn bounded around the grass with its mouth happily open to display happiness. It almost looks like somebody gave this deer his first cup of coffee.

The deer’s reaction is not one you’d typically see with deer. Most deer seem cautious and quiet. They may flee from loud noises or stare petrified when caught in headlights. Not this deer, though.

This cute bit of fast-moving nature was captured by Bobby Wummer Photography. The deer’s footage was captured with AlphCam Trail Cameras.
