Herding dogs often have a natural instinct for “herding” as their name suggests. But even these pooches don’t know the technique right off the bat! The video below features some Australian shepherd puppies who are being introduced to ducklings for the first time in their lives. They don’t know what they are supposed to do, but their first interaction is really adorable!
As the little duck army marches on to invade their property, the puppies look around in confusion. They even tried to blend in with the ducklings, but that didn’t work well for them. But soon enough, mama dog came along and showed them how it’s done! You are going to melt when you see how they follow her!
When these four ducks walk onto the puppies’ territory, all activity stops and they are frozen in their tracks wondering what that strange chirping sound is. Then they see the ducks and Finn becomes quite curious. He gives herding a try, but he just can’t seem to get the ducks moving. They don’t seem intimidated by him at all!
Jojo is up next and she tries behaving like a duck and that certainly doesn’t scare any of them. The ducks proceed to walk right over to the puppies’ water bowl and help themselves. Finn scares them away, but wait till you see what they do when Finn wanders off. It’s so funny!
