The Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage in South Africa, as the name suggests, carters mostly to rhinos who have become victims of poaching. But they decided to take on a little elephant calf into the orphanage. He was named Ubuntu, but was simply called Ellie. He had been abandoned by his heard, and life looked bleak for him.

He was treated and being fed special food because of his health conditions. But Ellie desperately needed companionship, as elephants are social animals. Enter Duma, a German shepherd. As soon as they met each other, the two hit it right off! Ellie even seemed more cheerful because of his company!
