Isn’t Emma cute? Yes she is! But isn’t it crazy what all the other elephants do after she is born?! They all gather around Emma, protecting her with their massive legs, and proceed on kicking dirt around, with the goal to cover Emma completely. Watch again in case you missed it!
The way they cover Emma with dirt is almost ritualistic, and this happens until Emma can walk on her feet. Then when she’s able to walk, the elephants eat the dirt!
