Have you ever had one of those days where the world is on top of you? You can’t seem to get motivated, you are feeling down in the dumps. All you want is a BIG cuddle from someone. Well that isn’t just a human thing, animals have days where they want some love and affection. How many times has your pet dog or cat jumped on you for a cuddle? Even the pet budgie or parrot will sit on your shoulder and want a rub on the tummy or head. Affection is something that we all want.
Now imagine if you were visiting a zoo where you can have contact with the animals. You can come face-to-face with all sorts of creatures. The happy chap in the video below has done just that. He and his family were having a close-encounter with a baby elephant, when he decided to have a little lay-down next to the infant. What happens next with leave you with a huge smile on your face for the rest of the day.
Can you imagine being licked by an elephant, or having you face affectionately chewed on by a baby pachyderm? It’s something that I have never thought about until saw this amazing clip. I have two dogs and three cats, some say I am a glutton for punishment, but they are all very affectionate animals. In fact as I am writing this, one of my cats is sitting on my lap just purring and wanting a pat. This is one of the reasons that the human race have pets. It’s the love of these animals that attracts us to them. They faithfulness and un-inhibited affection is something that we could all learn from.
I have seen many animal video clips on YouTube before, but I must admit I have never seen anything as what you will see when you click on the link below. I was just in-awe of the reaction of this baby when the man decided to lie-down next to it. The man’s child is a little concerned for her dad, but mom is reassuring her in the background that daddy is ok, and that the little elephant is in fact just playing. Firstly the baby starts to lick the man’s face, then proceeds to have a little nibble on his entire head, at this point I was thinking that maybe this would be a good time to stand up and make a run for it, but no, the fearless-fellow just lays there and lets this cute-as-a-button-baby enjoy a great big cuddle.
If you look up the word affection in the dictionary it will give you all sorts of definitions of the word and its meanings and origins, but if you are like most of us, it is pretty obvious what it really means. The feelings you get when you are around someone that you cares for, or even someone that you may have just met but are instantly attracted too are beyond definition and explanation. This clip will leave you both feeling warm and fuzzy, but also with the wonderment of how so much all of Mather Natures creatures are alike.
