Baby Gears Up For Tantrum In Backseat. I Was Flabbergasted At What Calmed Her Down.

Usually, a good place to quell a baby’s tantrum is by putting them into a car seat and driving around. The motion typically soothes them and I would say that a high percentage of the time, a nap comes shortly thereafter. But there are sometimes that the babe enters Cranky Zone 11, the one where not even a drive can calm them down. The next weapon in the arsenal… music. Like this video here.

We see a very grumpy baby girl in the backseat of a car. She is on the verge of tears. Then all of a sudden, Katy Perry’s “Dark Horse” comes on, presumably from a CD or an iTunes playlist. Oh… it’s insanely difficult to describe the look of joy that comes over her face. Well, her mouth looks like an ‘O’ and she starts wiggling her feet and hands to the beat of the music. Thank you, Miss Perry! A crisis averted!

The rapid transformation from crying baby to excited Katy Perry fan is SO rapid that I thought it was CGI at first. This would be perfect for a commercial, except that something else could be dubbed over the song. “Aw. Baby’s crying. Do she want this EXCITING PRODUCT? She does! She does!” It’s just so fun to see her go from grumpy to happy in the span of like a second. I hope Perry plays this clip at her concerts.

It’s hard for me to think of a song that would elicit the same reaction. I mean, sure, there are some that make me dance in my seat, some that make me air drum along with it, and even some that make me lip sync, too. Then again, I am not a baby anymore – though sometimes my wife would beg to differ. OK, you knew that joke was coming, right? Anyways, I hope that this girl meets Perry later on in life and shows her the video, saying, “That was ME!”
