Baby Panda Goes Outside To See First Snowstorm. I Melted At Her Reaction To It.

There’s just something about snow that usually makes a kid so giddily happy. Any time that I take my son out to school after a snow day, it takes about 10 minutes longer because he has to stop every three feet and pick up more snow to play. What about if it’s their first time EVER in the snow? Oh, that in itself is a whole different experience. Take this video of a baby panda taking her first walk outside in a snowstorm.

We see Bao Bao rolling down a snow-covered hill with her mommy. She’s obviously having a blast during her first foray out into the cold, wet white stuff. I remember being a kid and enjoying playing in it. Then I grew up and started having to shovel the stuff. Then it became not quite as fun. Then again, I don’t think I’ve ever had seen a panda being forced to shovel – so enjoy it all you want, little one!

If Bao Bao could talk, we’d hear her saying to her mommy, “I LOVE THIS WHITE STUFF! SO MUCH FUN! LET’S PLAY! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” or something similar. Her joy rolling around in it almost made me forget how much I dislike snow. Go ahead… ask why I live in the Northeast. Because it still has the lowest natural disasters compared to the rest of the country. Sure, one really damaging hurricane in my four-plus decades of living here, but that’s still a risk worth taking.

There is something so wonderfully innocent about seeing a wee little one frolicking in the snow. It brings us back to our time of being a child and getting to have a snow day, sledding, among other things. Ah. Memories. The best thing for Bao Bao? She doesn’t have to spend three hours getting zipped up in 34 layers of clothing, jackets, hats, and mittens and then announce she has to go to the bathroom at the end…

Wasn’t this such an adorable video? I couldn’t get enough of watching it, snow and all. How about you? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below!

Share this adorable video with your friends and family on Facebook because it will give them a great big smile… or two… or three! It will make them happy and you, too!
