There's Always the Black Sheep of the Family, as These Black Swans Prove

Two black swans and four fluffy cygnets swim near rocks in a pond.

Black swans are known for their senses of beauty, aggressiveness, and ability to maintain strong family relations. However, these two Dawlish black swans have shown the world the real meaning of parenting as they take their cygnets for their first picnic.

Momma and papa must have taken days studying the behaviors of their cygnets and wanted to give them a surprise tour to a place they believed every family member would be okay.

Just like human parents, the black swan parents are seen taking guard to ensure the safety of the 'kids.' Then momma (at the back) looks pretty keen, giving instructions to ensure that no one misbehaves during the trip.

Black swans swim near rocks and fallen leaves in a pond with ducks.

Then papa comes back to agree with momma. He encourages the cygnets then has a secret talk with momma (maybe warning momma to be patient with the cygnets on their first day out).

The family seems in agreement, and everyone proceeds to the 'surprise picnic' area only for the cygnets to realize that it is at the river. At first, all the five cygnets remain skeptical about taking their first dive but later agree to follow momma and papa.

Remember, there’s always that black sheep of the family. Well, this family has one too. As the other four cygnets agree to take a dive, the 'black sheep' maintains its position at the riverbank, just following.

Do you know that sibling who takes the role of a tape recorder and does very little? Now, this black swan family also has one. However, the 'black sheep' spends 90% of the trip time taking the records and then diving at the end of the video.
