Blake Shelton sets the tongues a-wagging with his rendition of the popular country song “The Gambler.” A renowned country singer himself, Shelton surprised many by his take on one of the legends of the country scene.

Showcasing that he “knows when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em,” Blake Shelton paid tribute to Kenny Rogers in a moving performance. Given how natural his execution was, it’s safe to say it was an iconic live cover of the Grammy-winning song.

Surprisingly, Shelton was not the sole famous musician in the building to honor the Country Hall of Music Famer. Fellow stars like Trisha Yearwood and Dierks Bentley were also present.

With the performance taking in front of a live audience, fans were treated to a unique historical moment where a country legend was honored. Those unable to make the event were lucky enough to enjoy it when it was later aired on GAC.

Tweeting after the event was concluded, Blake Shelton shared his performance later on. Aptly, he captioned it, “Thinking about Kenny Rodgers tonight and remembered this. He was there that night.”.

It was a fitting tribute to a legend of the game. While Kenny Rogers was already successful as a country music artist. “The Gambler” skyrocketed him to worldwide fame, and the album birthed his fourth No. 1 hit.

Following his golden moment, Rogers starred in TV movies and was embraced as the face and name of a restaurant chain. Famously, he admitted that “The Gambler” was the one song most fans identified with as he went to perform around the world.
