8-Year-Old Stops Traffic to Help Struggling Senior Up Flight of Steps

He was in the passenger seat of his mother’s car when 8-year-old Maurice spotted a senior lady with her walker, struggling to make it up the stairs…

Random acts of kindness are deliberate efforts to brighten another person’s day by doing something charitable, helpful, and caring.

While the opportunities for the stuff you can do to be helpful are infinite, the most crucial thing is to expect nothing in return.

Complimenting a stranger, sharing a happy moment, paying it forward, and showing thanks are among the steps we can take on our path towards a brighter, better future. This young man knows…

He was in the passenger seat of his mother’s car when 8-year-old Maurice spotted a senior lady with her walker, struggling to make it up the stairs.

He immediately told his mother to wait, got out of the car, stopping traffic just to help the woman get up to the top of the stairs safely.

The woman then gave Maurice a hug which he was happy to share back judging by the mutual respect and smiles. Then she whispered something, I can swear to you by reading her lips that made me cry, “Thank you, son…” It was so sweet and so succinct.

Maurice then ran back to his mother’s car with a big smile on his face and went on his day with his mother. However, he was in for a big surprise. Unknown to him, a friendly passerby named Riley Duncan recorded the good deed and put it on Facebook. The boy had no idea his act of kindness was being filmed.

Much to Duncan’s surprise, the video quickly went viral and has garnered over 13,000, 000 views on Facebook and has been shared thousands upon thousands of times in the last few days.

“Thank you God for our youth,” Duncan writes online. You’ll be happy to know, Mr. Duncan gives all credit to Maurice, and much to that credit Maurice remains humble despite his young age and Internet fame.
